Ice Cube - Everythangs Corrupt

Ice Cube has finally dropped his long-awaited ‘Everythangs Corrupt’album. This industry veteran with over 30 years of experience in the game has ambition of showing up the modern giants of rap that he helped propel to mainstream success by normalizing the hip-hop genre.

In Cube’s early days, long before he was a decorated actor, he was a politically charged gangster rapper who had tunes that challenged the status quo and brought attention to the difficulty of life as an underprivileged minority. He’s returning to those early roots with this new release.

The record is full of the anger and poignant themes found in his early N.W.A. work. This is best seen with the album’s first single “Arrest The President.”

On the song, Ice Cube takes no qualms about urging the American public into challenging Donald Trump’s authority. He goes directly at the White House with this track, in the same way as he went after the corrupt politicians of the 80s when he was establishing himself in the music world.

Another politically charged track on the album is “Chase Down the Bully.” On this track, Cube goes after the white supremacy that has seen a resurgence in recent years. In no mixed language, the seasoned rapper targets the racist protesters of Charlottesville.

In short, this is a refreshing album for fans of Ice Cube’s early music. In a return to his classic lyricism with a new, modern style sound, the legendary rapper proves that he is still relevant to the dialogue of politics and music.
