How to lower your blood pressure naturally.

High blood pressure is dangerous, so it can’t hurt to take some steps to lower your blood pressure. Even if you don’t want to take medication or don’t have a prescription for one, a few simple steps can help lower your blood pressure naturally.

1. Eating a balanced diet with plenty of whole foods will prevent a buildup of plaque constricting your arteries.
2. People who are less stressed tend to have lower blood pressure, so keeping a clear, relaxed mind through good-quality sleep, frequent breaks and meditation can help you lower yours.
3. Plants and herbs such as hibiscus and ginger can lower your blood pressure, while alcohol tends to raise it. Try winding down with a cup of herbal or green tea instead of a glass of wine.
4. Exercising more will strengthen your heart. When your heart doesn’t work as hard, your blood pressure decreases.
5. Too much salt can increase pressure in your blood vessels, while nutrients such as antioxidants help detoxify your blood by getting rid of free radicals. Replace salty snacks such as chips with antioxidant-rich choices like strawberries or dark chocolate.
6. Potassium is a vital electrolyte that can promote heart health, so eating potassium-rich foods such as bananas will lower your blood pressure.
7. Smoking can damage your arteries, so it might be time to quit.

High blood pressure can lead to serious problems such as heart disease, but a few simple lifestyle changes can keep you healthy!
