American record producer and rapper Big K.R.I.T.’s latest release K.R.I.T IZ HERE cements his success and he knows it. In fact, he wants you to know it too. In an era where bloggers have an oftentimes undeserved influence on the industry, the 32-year-old entertainer has cracked the code. Known in some circles as hip-hop music’s “country cousin,” the Mississippi native serves up a promising platter that features 19 tracks complete with several guest stars. Here are some of the hoppin’ highlights of his fourth studio album.
The lead-in is “K.R.I.T. HERE.” It’s a full album opener accentuated by several soul samples from recent rap recordings and a nice loop into a tight trampoline bounce. This solid selection is made for people who pay more for their car speakers than their oil, gas, and tires, got it?
“I Been Waitin” comes complete with a trap bounce and some focused yet relaxed lyrics. “Make It Easy” is a soulful gorgeous loop and early fan favorite. The single “Addiction” features Lil Wayne and Saweetie is infectious, sexy and has a great hook.
This new album basically finds the artist in a better place. The prominent chip on his shoulder found on previous projects is replaced with a fun swagger in his vocals. So check out Big K.R.I.T.’s K.R.I.T IZ HERE because Big K.R.I.T. is, indeed, here. Again, he’s made it and it’s “Obvious” that he wants everyone to know it.
